Alentejo

Historic Évora, just an hour outside Lisbon, is an excellent day-trip, or great for a weekend. The historic center is filled with medieval streets, artisan shops and traditional cafes. But, no visit to Évora is complete without a visit to the bone chapel and the ruins of the Roman Temple of Diana.
The hilltop village of Monseraz has been occupied by many cultures since pre-history. It is a must-do if visiting Lisbon or the Alentejo. Visit the castle built in 1320 and marvel in the stunning views over the Alquelva lake below.
